Dan Simpson is best known as a recording engineer/ musician who's lived in Key West since 1978. In November, 2005, he made a breakthrough in his pursuit of the visual arts, which he has christened Teleidoscopic Photography. Here's a quote from Paradise This Week, December 15th, 2005 before his inaugural showing at Harrison Gallery:
" I don't know if it was the cumulative pressure from so many directions this summer" Simpson said, "but I had a breakthrough in November. I wasn't visited by the muse- I was mugged." During an intense four-day period with little sleep and forgotten meals, he produced almost a hundred images.
Thankfully, meals and sleep have returned to normal, but the images keep coming.
